:imperial: Revenge of the Guard :imperial:

200 pts.
13 acts.

35 Zuckuss, Bounty Hunter
34 Kir Kanos
37 Grand Admiral Thrawn
50 Imperial Sovereign Protector x2
17 Storm Commando
8 Mas Amedda
9 Rodian Brute x3
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
5 Caamasi Noble

or

-Storm Commando
-Caamasi

+Imperial Inquisitor

Overall i like this squad, but to go along with the theme I was considering dropping Zuckuss and 1 ug for Palp on Throne and a Caamasi. I lose Range support for semi-infinite force points. So its a toss up in my eyes.

Imperial Sovereign Protector: Terrific in Sealed, but in Constructed they will go down like a sack of potatoes. Really I think you'll find them to be easy pickin's for shooter heavy squads and big melee beats alike.

Rather than running both Mith'rawn and Jolee, consider using the UH GA Thrawn here. Will save you some points. You only have 13 activations anyways, and your only real shooter you will want to activate early, so I don't see you getting all that much use out of Opportunist anyways.

And I agree about the ISPs. They're fun pieces to play, but will really struggle in competitive gaming. They really needed either Parry, Block, or Deflect in order to be competitive, IMO.

Well, My intent was to boost their attack and defense with Jolee, but GA Thrawn will work even better... I hadn't even considered him.... somehow :( Putting them at a 23 defense should give them a lil more added survivability. I do agree with the sentiment that they should have had some better force powers. But thats neither here nor there.

I will Thrawn swap (pun intended) :P, and drop jolee.. which will free up 19 pts to play with. I can also drop a rodian/ug which will give me the option of bringing in the Imperial Inquisitor. Putting the ISP at a +19 Attack. Not really sure if thats the best option for the squad, as I could definately use some more ranged support. Maybe I will go with a storm commando and a Caamasi instead. I will just have to playtest this and see what works best.

As far the competitiveness of the ISP's is concerned, I agree. They 40 Damage max is sad, and push 1 is nigh useless other than freeing up one of your shooters that is unfortunate enough to be locked in melee; so they don't get doubled/tripled to death. I still like the piece however. So this is just an attempt to breathe some life into thier playability.

I think the same problem lies with Kir Kanos. Decent enough piece, but no defensive abilities or force powers whatsoever. The Twin helps with damage output, but I think for 34 points, Kanos should have had Parry.

The Inquisitor won't help much if you're running GA Thrawn. His +3 and the Inquisitor's +4 won't stack.
