--Maul Machine Tile Wars--
55 Darth Maul
36 Darth Sidious
32 B'omarr Monk
20 General Whorm Loathsom
14 Captain Mar Tuuk
13 Kel Dor Bounty Hunter
8 Muun Tactics Broker
4 Battle Droid
9 Mouse Droid x3
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(200pts. 14 activations)
Playing around with Maul for Tile Wars, I think this would be a great time trying out. I really wanted a BG, but couldn't really fit it in. Perhaps the MTB option simply isn't worth it, which would create room for it.

Personally, I think a move 12, dominate, then Pawn Dominate would be great fun, especially since rolling cleave can keep me moving through the opposing pieces.

I assume you just have the Kel Dor in there to eliminate the Muun? You really need to free up 11 points, I guess, so that would mean dropping two of the Mouse Droids, and the Battle Droid....and something else...hard to say.

The more I think about it though, the more I'm not sure the MTB is really worth it. Against most opponents, you might want to let them go first anyway in the first round, forcing them to only have 1 activation, and then you get three. If you go first, you only get 2. Of course, either way, you get to make a nasty strike on something. Plus, if you or your opponent have any doors on their Tile, that'll hose up the first activation of the game, meaning you'll definitely want to go 2nd in the first phase anyways.

So, I know I suggested the MTB in Luke_Skywalker's thread (BTW, did you already have this squad made before that? lol), but the more I think about it, I'm not certain it's needed.

Drop the MTB/Kel Dor, now you have 21 extra points. Go with a Human Bodyguard, and then possible drop the Battle Droid as well for another Human BG and an extra Ugo/Mouse.

I can't believe I didn't think about Mar Tuuk being a solid TW piece until now.

Nah, made it today :) I think the MTB probably isn't needed, and won't be as useful as the BGs. I think I would drop the KD, MTB and BD for another mouse and 2 BGs.

Come to think of it....another option would be to go with a T1 and Durge JH in Tile Wars instead of the dominating approach. Totally different build styles, obviously, but using the T1 to put Maul into position would be more reliable than depending on the Dominate saves (which I invariable do 'save' whenever I'm playing Dominate, grrr).

packing an accurate shooter is a common tilewars tactic and having a strafe figure is a common tactic (lancer, ani-stap). Han GH is pretty good in tile wars due to his disruptive and NTMTO.
All these abilites make running the MTB a big risk.

The disruptive will hamper Lothesome also.
I think you are much better off ditching the MTB, getting a BGD to take some of the inevitable heat of maul and just pawnimating him 1st round.

Even still, i think your asking a bit too much of Maul in your build. Sideous won't be able to do much when Maul dies (he will die) so you need to have a 2nd and probably 3rd threat to take the heat off maul.

Pack a gun to give Maul cover fire and to finish what he starts. durge is a good idea but there are a few other heavy hitters out there that get huge boosts from Whorm *COUGH*Boba Merc*COUGH*.

I'm not opposed to teh Dominate trick in TW but i think you should pack a bomar and be done with it, sideous won't do enough unless he has somethign else meaty to pawn like a T1, B3 or spotlight droid.

Yea, outside of the gimmick and the fun of it, for competitive sake I am changing it more in line with Deri's suggestions.

--Maul Machine Tile Wars--
58 Boba Fett, Mercenary
55 Darth Maul
28 Sly Moore
20 General Whorm Loathsom
14 Captain Mar Tuuk
11 Human Bodyguard
6 Mouse Droid x2
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2

(198pts. 10 activations)

There ya go, nice! Yeah, Fett Merc is absolutely brutal with Whorm. He'll be one of the first pieces I consider anytime I build a Whorm squad from now on.
