--Reserve Force General--
55 Kazdan Paratus
55 General Obi-Wan Kenobi
35 Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Master
15 Lobot, Computer Liaison Officer
12 Gha Nachkt
9 R2-D2, Astromech Droid
5 Caamasi Noble
12 Ugnaught Demolitionist x4
3 Mouse Droid
(200pts. 12 activations)

Latest idea for using Kazdan. Once the Errata for Soresu Style Mastery goes into effect, Obi-Wan becomes the ultimate stall/interference piece while you work to build up some FPs with Kazdan. You do lose Quinlan Vos, so have to be more careful with Lobot's placement for getting Recon. I would likely bring in a Human BG or two the first time I get Lobot's reserves. If I get Droid Reserves on the very first round, might bring in a BG Droid and the BDO to help protect Lobot that way.

Kazdan becomes a 22 Defense and +16 attack with Obi-Wan. Qui-Gon becomes a 24 defense, 28 in cover, which means he'll last a lot longer before getting killed. That's why the Caamasi is in there, to run around near Qui-Gon and help him get the +4/+4 bonus.

I think the biggest issue with this squad is that it has no ranged threat until some reserves are rolled. Plenty of options after that point (Dash, IG-86's, Lando DS, etc.), but will rely mostly on Qui-Gon/GOWK for damage early in the game.

I'm not sure what map is going to be best for this squad. Something primed for Melee, obviously, so probably Train Station (with very careful play) or Ruined Base. I could see Rancor Pit doing OK as well, as even if you get the 'bad' side in terms of gambit, you'll likely be putting Qui-Gon/Caamasi out there anyways in the early rounds.

What do you think? Builds with Quinlan/Rex better than GOWK?

I do like it, but I'm still personally afraid of all the Reserves. I've had a game where my opponent won on killing my Reserves, so seeing all those Reserves makes me a bit wary of how I'd handle Reserves. But yeah, Recon ( with 1 Recon backup) is a great idea with so much Reserves, and I never thought of using Camaasi's to get GOWK's CE, very nice idea. I'll have to try that sometime, sounds like fun...

I figured out a better use for the remaining 19 points (had 4 Ugs, Caamasi, Mouse Droid before).

Switched it up to Human BG, Caamasi, Ugo. Could also go with Wicket instead of the Caamasi/Ugo, but with Obi's CE, I don't think Wicket is quite as necessary, at least not for the Jedi. Might help the Droids, so he'd definitely be in the Reserves box for Lobot. I think the Human BG will be key though for Lobot getting Reserves more frequently without too much danger of getting pummeled for sticking out his neck. Hopefully can use Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon to shield for him in most cases, but then I'll have a BG for the Accurate Shooters, etc.

I am sure you don't forget this as other I have seen happen, Lobo. But, don't forget how an invaluable tool that "Droid Mark" can be when needing a bodyguard as well. Sure, rideby's may cause more problems but all it takes is 1 failed roll and you bought time.

If you are worried about the recon not working, don't forget about Anticipation from Qui-Gon. Reroll an initiative for 6 rounds, not line of sight required. :D
