I'm not going to have much extra time to build a squad this week so my vague Kota idea will have to wait. Instead I was thinking I'd play an old one I never had a chance to try out. I'll probably take the ROTS hardback map for this.

200 total
BBSV (20)
Boba Fett, BH (62)
Doombot (9)
Sev x3 (48)
Uggies x2 (6)
Yoda (55)

*homer_sapien has been critically wounded by an attack of Lazy* Looks like an fun squad here. I'm kid of surprised there is no R2-AM for flying Yoda into the thick of it, but other than that I can't really fault the build. I also enjoy playing golden oldies :)

If you don't have a hyper comptitive venue you should be all right. No init control, but maybe you have enough stealth/mobile that it won't nerf you. Let them move to you and pick them off 1X1.

The newer version from after A&E came out replaced Boba BH with Enforcer, another Sev, and R2. I just felt like giving this one a try.

The place I play is relaxed enough that I don't have to play Teir 1 exclusively. Iniative control has only just started being an issue lately. A couple tournies back I used Han Rogue instead of Rebel Hero and didn't see so much as Recon the whole day. Couple weeks later I faced Thrawn 2 out of three games. I'm hoping that with Yoda and the BBSV giving Boba and the Sevs 2 tries at Evade I'll be able to keep them alive longer than my opponant can keep thier stuff alive.

I'm surprised about the lack of R2, i'd almost consider taking Mas out for R2. All you'll need then is careful positioning.

drop a sev, add r2 astro and Wicket.

Your sevs might hit something with evading traps.

I have horrible luck with Wicket. He usually dies as soon as I move him close enough to anything for Traps to effect them.

Yeah I have moved away from using Wicket as well. He incurs as much wrath as R2 at my LGS and he always gets wiped out as soon as they can get him. Granted I don't mind as much since that is an attack that can't go the way of my main characters, but after repeated early deaths without getting to use traps, I felt like I could do better with his points.

Use of Wicket at my LGS follows pretty much the same pattern every time he's in a squad. At some point he'll be moved up to 6 squares away from something. Second activation will be something that attacks that target. Opponant gets his 2 activations and kills Wicket.

Yeah, that's basically how it works. :(

Wicket is always a defensive piece in my game group.

He sits back and ensures that encroaching Jedi get 4 lower defence scores when the advance close to the shooters.

Seeing as you have an evading squad that requires your opponent to get close it likely that they will step into traps while wicket is safely hidden.

Wicket is extremely fragile, When I first saw him I thought he would be infinitely more useful than he has turned out to be. I still love him and Garindan in a Nom Squad though.

That could work. If I can keep my Stealth pieces in cover they'll have to come within 6 of them to attack. Wicket might stay alive a bit longer if my opponent is more concerned with trying to kill my Sevs and BBSV. Since my opponent will have to come to me I might replace Mas with Wicket and then try to do my best to keep the Sevs withing 6 of the BBSV and Yoda. Boba will be a little easier. Since he only needs to end near Yoda I can have him use Mobile to move, take his shot, then move back close enough to Yoda.

Yep, only other thing to do with wicket is to use him as a draw fire fig. He is great if you play him right, and part of that is not charging him out front.

Second guessing things again and I removed Wicket for R2.

Well the squad I never played because something would always happen to keep me from playing whenever I planned to try it out continues its streak. We got smacked with a snowstorm so no SWM for me tonight. Maybe there will be a LOTF preview later to cheer me up.
