I was experimenting with some ideas to use the shadow gaurd with, and I really like two ideas to use them with. One idea is Thrawn and other commanders, and the other with RS palp and a bith vigo.

Shadow's Shadows
Thrawn 37 pts.
Emperor's Shadow Guard x4 92 pts.
Imperial officer x2 28 pts.
Weequay Leader 13 pts.
Mas 8 pts.
Gran Raider 4 pts.
Ugnaughts x6 18 pts.

16 activations

So basically you have shadow gaurds with mighty swing, cunning attack, and immediate attacks. With cunning and thrawn, it's 15 attack for 30 damage. And you have 4 of these guys. A fun trick is to move a shadow gaurd 6 squares, attack, then use the imperial officer for more damage with deadeye. This squad has good defense, and HP.

Shadow Storm
Palpatine ( rs ) 40 pts.
Emperor's Shadow Guard x4 92 pts.
Bith Vigo 20 pts.
Mas 8 pts.
MTB 8 pts.
Wicket 8 pts.
ugnaughts x8 24 pts.

17 activations

The shadow gaurds gain evade, and even more force thanks to palpatine, for lightsaber blocking or evading. You will auto-win initative for most of the game, so you've got cunning whenever you want. Wicket helps with attacking, and he also gains evade. Palpatine can clear out swarms or put out a nice 30 damage hit, in addition to his potent CE. This squad also has a lot of HP, in addition to defense.

Any comments?

One problem.....The Shadow Guards can't use Deadeye/Mighty Swing on attacks granted by the Imperial Officer. Otherwise, it's a decent idea. I'd drop one of the Officers, and the Weequay Leader for more activation fodder, or possibly one more Shadow Guard.

Stormtrooper Commander would work well here. Move one up to attack, swap with a boosted one into his place with thrawn, then hit twice with the imperial officer, and again next turn before you give the bonus dmg to another one. :)
