This could be a fun squad to try out. It may be a bit gimmicky, but still.

Fel on rancor
Tie crawler
Thrawn
Mas
Jabba
probe (or swoop)
Lobot
x3 ugs
198pts/ 10 base activations

Here is some of what i was trying for. Obviously you ahve the Rancor/Tie swap. You can use a Bantha to be cheaper, but the crawler brings some nice offense with its cost. Early you can move the rancor first and then swap the tank and let it take early damage from shooters. Then rancor can triple with cunning and is the better advancer with his triple cunning.

The probe is for the mirror match, but since i am at 198 you could also bring in a swoop for some Jabba swap.

The three ugs are for Lobot. It gives me the option for bringing in a MTB if needed, but if i did that i would have to play very agressively. I can also go for activations or Lando if my opponent is running a thin squad.

Anyone think this could work?

Wow.....nice idea. The TIE Crawler with Thrawn's boost would just be nasty. +13 attack and 19 Defense, with Twin and DR10. Very nice. If you can manage to move Thrawn, Rancor, TIE at the end of a round, then the TIE could twin and move back into cover or out of LOS altogether. In the 200 point format, this could be a quite deadly squad, IMO.

If you're not too terribly worried about activations, you could drop the 3 Ugos for Grand Moff Tarkin and then pull off the 3-move swap and attack at the beginning of a round. Potential for 130 (140 if Thrawn shoots) right there.

I win map roll, and play on Bespin, GG.

I really can't see the Tie Crawler being used in anything besides Tier 3 fun squads, it's only good in Sealed. However, the Uggernaught is cheaper and EXTREMELY fun to use, especially with General Veers. You could even fit in more activations.

GG.

Noob. 200pt squad. Bespin isnt legal. Good game now boy :) (Note this was gentle ribbing, not mean spirited insults)

Not to mention, you would also have to win side roll, and even still, only one huge is placed in the room. The other gets placed outside it. With swap you can have which ever one you want.

lol - with the correction.

rofl - that you felt you had to add what was in the parenthesis.

As to the squad - I like it a lot. I also think the goofbird would be a viable option if you had to get across the starship fast.

Which map is Bespin, anyways? I got some low-quality map pictures off of the Holocron, but none of them are Bespin, is it known by another name?

I think it's a great idea. I love the new rancor, and the tie crawler is modestly good. Rancor swapping is still one of the funniest parts of the game.

Cool build, my favorite 200 point squad at the moment is my own Rancor Swap squad (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=955195)

I think that the TIE is misplaced though. I'd use another Fringer to abuse Jabba a little more. Looks good though.

a) its new :)
b) It has some capable offense with a +13 twin.
c) It can take a bit of punishment as well.

Goofbird! I didnt even think about using that. That would really help get the rancor into position faster. It would also save me points, which could help get my activations up.

I will try this both ways. I think the tie could have a lot of power to it, but in the end, maybe the goofbird will be better.

:)

Goofbird and then put in Tarkin.....two Cunning Attackers in the opening phase. :D And you could move the goofbird 10 squares and still attack...with flight! Definitely help get the Francor in position easier.

It's also a Droid that is immune to CEs.

Skiff -> Fast flight.

The tie tank is not a droid.

I think Menoth was adding to your list of why not to use the Telosion Tank Droid....because it's a Droid.
