60 Master Vandar
3 Rodian Brute
44 Vodo-Siosk Baas
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
28 Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler
09 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3
14 Old Republic Senator
09 Wuher

The idea behind the squad is just make everything difficult. The main idea is to really make things hard on the GOWK/Windu squads. The idea is to tie up Windu with Vodo while Vander makes it hard for GOWK to re-roll Soresu saves.

I'd consider Carth Onasi, Old Republic Soldier, as the shooter over Dash. I don't like the chances of getting off many opportunist attacks with only 10 activations.

Taking out Dash and adding Carth would also have me pull a Rodian Brute. With the reports out of Frosty Con it does look like activations are going down but I'm not sure if 9 activations is pushing my luck.

It seems like activations are either really high (Poggle Bombs, LV B&B) or else really low (8-10). If you play your squad well and it has a number of different tactics available, 9 can be ok. I had only 8 in my squad, and was outactivated at the start of every match...Rex really helps to even the odds, though. ;)

My concern for the squad, though, is that if I've got GOWK/Windu against this squad, I won't even begin attacking Vodo until Vandar is gone. Once Mace is close enough to reach Vandar, he's going in. Vodo isn't enough of an offensive threat to warrant much attention before Vandar goes down. Force suppression will make it more costly for Mace to Riposte and especially Reflect (5fp including a reroll), so that's a great concept. However, Vodo has no defense against Rex, other than his 22 Defense, so by the time Mace turns his attention to Vodo, he'll already have taken some damage from Rex.

I do agree that Carth would probably help you more than Dash. Atton is the best OR shooter, of course, but if you can't fit him in then Carth will be good too.

Revanchist would do much much better then vodo. Push 4 and giving Vandar Ambush is solid. Vandar would be able to leap into (or out of) the fray and unleash 120 on someone. If you do that you can fit Carth in easy.

So my suggestion is

60 Vandar
42 Revanchist
33 Bastilla
29 Carth
14 Senetor

then do whatever with the 22 points left (r7's, uggies, mice, etc)

This one gives you pretty high damage output and your damage is top loaded too so your more likely to get to use it.

Weeks.. WOW that is an awsome idea. After reading over post I re-opened Mini Manager and started cramming.

60 Master Vandar
42 The Revanchist
29 Carth Onasi, OR Soldier
33 Bastila Shan, Jedi Master
14 Old Republic Senator
15 Mouse Droid x5
06 Uggie x2

THAT is a good squad! Carth is so good with Ambush. And a Leaping-Quading-ASM'ing Vandar is great too.

If it goes to Regionals I'll have to be sure to put "Designed by thereisnotry and Weeks" on squad list.

It's interesting that all 5 of the main pieces are from the Vsets. Only the mice and ugs were around before WotC dropped the game.

To be honest that really is not surprising at all. WOTC and Lucas really seemed to want to keep the OR a rather pathetic faction well mainly due to the fact it has never been a hyped era for Lucas. Each of the sets, especially the later ones seemed to be whatever Lucas wanted to advertise, not what was best for the game. Now with the Vsets we have designers not being harrassed by Lucas who are doing things for the betterment of the game.

I've been toying with a Vandar/Bastilla/Carth/Senator squad for a while, and have been wondering what else to put in. The Revanchist is definitely an interesting idea. Mace needs 8s to hit him with Lightsaber Duelist, rerolls cost 2 force points within 6 of Vandar, and he has half a chance of blocking a crit - he seems like a decent Mace counter.

Force push 40 too to finish off targets

Yup as long as you have the force points to do it. Sadly we scheduled epic tonight at the game store so I wont get to test this out in Tourney play until the 9th but that gives me a ton of time to figure out a map and finalize the smaller pieces of the squad before hand.

Got a few games in with the squad last night. In game one on Theed Palace Vander trashed a Grand Master Yoda then Critdu. The game wasn't close at all. The big thing that put Critdu down was he didnt do well with Vander's Double/Twin. Also Carth and Senator softened him up a good bit. Looking forward to seeing how this does against GOWK/Critdu. Game two was a reverse of game one on Rhen Var where Nom Bombs pretty much destroyed the squad. Not much you can do against 20 4pt workers that spit poison and self destruct for 20.
