This squad is built to counter many of the top meta squads that have been emerging lately and what I suspect to be seen in Gencon this year (the Zannah/Vergere squads in particular have me worried).

--Legacy of Pellaeon--
71 Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force
28 General Weir
22 Imperial Governor Tarkin
36 Twi'lek Black Sun Vigo x2
16 Admiral Gilad Pellaeon
11 Admiral Ozzel
8 Mas Amedda
5 Imperial Dignitary
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(200pts. 10 activations)

At first glance your probably going to notice something a little different. No Thrawn *gasp*. This squad, however can do quite well without Thrawn. The TBSV's can GMA tripple, giving you a lot of range to do hit and run. Weir can destroy most melee threats with his Tripple Twin opportunist. Also, double Doctrine of Fear will help the squad against melee threats as well. The strategy is if you are going against a Bastilla squad, stay around Pellaeon and march forward as quick as possible if they have ranged threats also, and try to take those threats out like Atton and Carth. If you are going against a melee heavy OR squad, you should do well as they will not be able to use force powers to deflect the shots coming from the Ysalmiri region. This squad obviously has flaws and it is particularly weak against ranged opponents with Accurate backed up with Bastilla, as they will most likely target Pellaeon first. I considered adding a Bodyguard to the squad (like a Ponda Baba,GC and an Uggnaught for a TBSV) to protect Pelleaon, but decided more firepower is needed in case someone isn't playing a Force heavy squad. NR Solo charge squads might have some difficulty with this squad as Anakin Solo is neutrallized and you don't need to worry about Han's nullifying Master Tactician since you dont have it :P . Zannah/Vergere squads will have to have her relying on SSM only (and VCA 6), and with the amount of shots coming her way, it should work out hopefully in the Imperials favor. Kind of a gusty squad, but I think this can do well against most of the squads we are seeing enter the top meta. Lancers of course will be a problem as always, but at least Vader can hit them back when they hit him.Again this isn't a perfect squad. It has some very obvious bad matchups. Hopefully, this squad can deal with them effectively as they come. Pellaeon gives the Imperials many great options when it comes to switching out commanders. You could take out Tarkin and put in Grand Admiral Rulf Yage and give Vader Cunning attack for example.

Any suggestions on making this an even better squad? I appreciate any input/comments.

Enjoy! :D

What would you do against a heavy door control squad?

I also was thinking you could drop the Imperial Dignitary, Uggnaught and both TBSV's and replace them with Lobot (options with reinforcements), and a Talz Chieftan that would have quadruple attack. Its attack wouldn't be very high, but it would be effective against swarms/higher defense. With Lobot you could bring in a TBSV or a bunch of other fringe that would help out. You could also bring in Thracken Sal Solo and 2 Uggies if you are facing a Rebel/NR squad with Solo's in it.

[edit] You could also switch out Tarkin for a Security Officer Stormtrooper. That way you get It's a Trap, Overide and double attacker and don't significantly change the squad peices. This move decreses the overall firepower, but the option is there. Its up to you after seeing the squad if they have excessive door control.
