I want personally thank all those that chose to come to Gencon over C5. I think it was worth the trip. This year we had several new tournaments including the very popular Mystery Map. Turns out the Mystery Map tourney was the best attended tourney of the weekend. It eclipsed 60 players and everyone had a great time. Once again the best 4 days in gaming proved to be true. This year was the first year of the new Starship Battles rules. The Championship for SSB in its first year was shared by Ted budinski and myself. The Team tourney was seized this year by Team Canada. Congrats to those guys!!!!!Finally a big conggratulations to Daniel Stephens winner of the 2010 Star Wars Miniatures Championship!!!!!I cannot think a guy with a better attitude winning this year!!!! Great Job!!! I hope to see you next year as Gencon will be bigger and better. Be looking for them soon as I just got confirmation from WOTC that again Gamers will be a preview site. Unfortunately for us though WOTC is being a bit slow on the preview front.I am also excited to let you know that you can be working on helping playtest the new Starship Battle Ruleset. So come on in and check out the new rules. Also be watching for new RPG Book reviews to be posted soon including one of the new Uknown Regions book. Unfortunately this will also be the last WOTC RPG book in the series.Regionals are now getting finalized so if you are close be sure and attend. I can tell you this is one of the best events you can attend for fun or competition. It is just great to get together with a bunch of other Star Wars geeks and play minis.Gencon is coming together well and Gamers is going to be running all the Star Wars events this year. Here at Gamers we realize that many folks are not done with the game. We are making plans going forward to keep the game alive and vibrant.So please join in here keeping the community going. There are still plans this year for Regionals (even more than last year). Gencon will be bigger and better. So trust me when I say SWMGamers.com will still be keeping the game fun for everyone.
